I love being The Dame. I Really do!
A woman's version of being knighted is being "Damed," and when a teacher of mine gave me this title, it was a perfect foreshadowing of my future playing the role of Soul Stylist. Since that time, I have been honored to inspire and facilitate the transformational empowerment of over 2,000 women and men during the past twelve years as coach, teacher, consultant, and stylist.
I define a Soul Stylist as someone who cultivates, imagines, lives, and gives—all directed by their own unique vision of pleasure. Here are some of the fine experiences that have shaped my Soul Styling skills:
The Pleasure of Study!
- Director of Mama Gena’s School of Womanly Arts, 2002 - 2007
- Certified in 2003 as a Pleasure Coach by Regena Thomashauer
- Certified in 2008 as a Sensuality Teacher by the Drs. Vera & Steve Bodansky
- Graduate in 2008 of The Buddhist Chaplaincy Training Program
The Pleasure of Giving!
For over 20 years I have passionately served programs supporting HIV/AIDS patients, the homeless, the arts, prison and hospice chaplaincy, women's empowerment, natural birthing advocacy, and special needs children. I serve on the board of The Flawless Foundation; was a founding member of The New Space for Women's Health; currently serve on the board of Choices In Childbirth; and was the creative force behind the design of Mama Gena's Womanly Arts Mastery Program.
The Pleasure of Soul Styling!
From 1996 to 2010, I produced fabulous vintage and couture events for New York City Opera at their Thrift Shop as Resident Soul Stylist for what Vogue magazine called the "the highest quality thrift shop in New York."
A passionate fashion fan, consultant, and stylist for over 20 years, I am devoted to the thrills of cheap chic, thrift shop vintage, couture, and eco sensual luxury. In 2008 I created my Soul Styling Program© to inspire women to create instant chic that turns them on and helps them feel alive.
The Pleasure of Love!
In 1995, I married a man nine years my junior, co-created a deeply gratifying, loving marriage, had a really fun pregnancy at 44, and birthed a healthy, happy girl!
But before the pleasure… I rode through many extraordinary years of suffering and several addictions, living in response to old entrenched patterns of chronic despair and self-hatred. This led eventually, and beautifully, to a paramount enlightenment which set me on a new path of training myself to find exquisite joy, love, and prosperity in every aspect of my life and my interactions with others.
But how? Through my absolute commitment to unleashing my deepest, truest pleasures and desires… an exercise in Soul Styling and Pleasure Envisioning … all of which I am ready to share with you!Photo Credit (top photo): Jelena Vukotic
